Unidirectional Carbon Fiber UD Non-Crimp Fabric
This unidirectional carbon fiber UD non-crimp fabric arranges continuous carbon filaments fully parallel in one single direction, eliminating fiber crimp from traditional weaving. It retains maximum fiber strength, and is widely used in structural reinforcement, aerospace and automotive lightweighting scenarios.
Unidirectional carbon fiber UD non-crimp fabric is a high-performance non-woven composite sheet, also known as UD carbon fiber prepreg. Unlike traditional woven carbon cloth, it arranges all carbon filaments fully parallel along one single direction, then is bonded and shaped by resin without interlacing weaving process.
This design completely avoids the strength loss caused by bent and interlaced fibers in conventional woven fabrics. It retains extremely high tensile strength and modulus along the fiber direction, with strength 6 to 12 times that of steel while its density is less than 1/4 of steel. The fabric features excellent structure tailorability, users can adjust the fiber layup angle precisely to match the load path of components, achieving maximum weight reduction while ensuring structural strength.
It shows outstanding process adaptability, consistent batch performance, and fits for autoclave, compression molding, filament winding and most mainstream composite forming processes. It also delivers excellent corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and low thermal expansion coefficient, which can work stably for long term in harsh working conditions.
This product is widely applied in concrete structure and bridge reinforcement, aerospace primary load-bearing components, new energy vehicle lightweight parts, high-end sports equipment and special protection fields.
